Listing your equipment
If you are interested in selling fiber arts equipment and reach our membership across Texas, you can create a listing using the form below. We cannot assist with what your listing should include or how much to charge (there can be a wide range of prices for used equipment for a variety of reasons), however below are some resources that might be of assistance.
- Google search (especially if you have a brand marking on the equipment)
- eBay (try searching both sold and unsold items)
- Homestead Weaver (where you can also list your item nationally)
- Need a diagram of loom terminology?
- Need a diagram of spinning wheel terminology?
A word of caution ...
Buyers and sellers should stay alert to potential scams whenever they transact over the internet or by phone. The listing page is public and potential scammers can view the listings, so please stay alert and if the situation doesn’t sound right, steer clear. If you want to educate yourself further on scam emails, The Homestead Weaver (homesteadweaver.com) website has many examples of scammer emails relating to the sale of weaving equipment.
By submitting your listing information, you assume all risk for your listing and any transactions, or lack thereof, related to your listing on this website. Contemporary Handweavers of Texas makes no guarantees about the content, quality or success of any listing or transaction between you and the buyer.
Here is how it works … you submit your listing, it comes to us and we verify it is not spam. Once approved (allow 48 hours ), the item gets posted on our website here for 2 months. After 2 months it automatically dissappears. You can contact us to request we continue listing for additional time, 2 months at a time. You can also contact us at any point if the item has sold and you want to remove your listing.
Listing an item requires you to provide your name, email address and phone number, which allows us to contact you if we need to, and is not provided to the public. The second part of the form is your listing (a good place to include a price and terms), so you will be asked to provide buyers your preferred contact method, your general location (a city and zip code is sufficient), a title for the listing, description text for the listing, and photos. The more information you provide, the easier it is for a buyer to make a decision. Submit this form and if the listing is approved, you will receive an email with additional information. Note: You will not be able to edit your listing, so please check your listing carefully before submitting it. You can fix it only by submitting a completely new listing and notifying us to delete the old one.
