Connecting at the International Folk Art Festival

Date

Laura Viada at the International Folk Art Festival Summer 2017

At the conference, Deborah Chandler gave a call to action in her keynote speech on the possible ways we can connect with other cultures through craft.  One of her suggestions was to attend the International Folk Art Market, held each summer in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Inspired by this wise suggestion, conference co-chairs Laura Viada and Peggy Friedrichs visited the Market in July for a well earned Textile R&R.

Here are a few fabulous pictures from that trip. Look for Laura and Peggy’s complete report in the upcoming September CHT Newsletter. It will make you want to visit the Festival for yourself!

Let us know where you have traveled that helped you connect with other cultures through their folk art by writing in the comment section.
