Finding Inspiration

Vesna Zrinski of San Antonio uses the CHT Conference logo as weaving inspiration

I’ve noticed that weavers are able to find inspiration in unlikely places. For example, recently I noticed a couple of striking inches on a weaving loom at the Southwest School of Art in San Antonio. When I looked closely, I realized that Vesna Zrinski had found a clever way to recycle one of the summer Houston CHT Conference brochures into colorful and nontraditional weft!

Where do you find inspiration for weaving? You never know when the seed of an idea might grow and find a way into your weaving vocabulary. One of the best places to find these inspiring moments is at our Art Camp or the Biennial Conferences.

If you are looking for a place to recharge your weaving battery Art Camp 2018 is for you. Spend a Spring weekend with some of the best weaving teachers in Texas while weaving and laughing with other Texas weavers (the nicest people in the world). This time it is at lovely Newcombes Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels.

Don’t miss it….Art Camp 2018 registration is November 15, 2017. For more info, including a full class list and cost, visit
