Contemporary Handweavers of Texas is a statewide guild that attracts students interested in various fiber arts disciplines, and with an event every year, we welcome a wide variety of teaching proposals.  Our members love to try new things.

2025 Conference Class Proposals

The Instructors and Speakers committee for the CHT 2025 Conference in College Station, TX, is now accepting proposals for classes and seminars.

 

The conference will be held May 22-25, 2025 in College Station, Texas, at the Hilton College Station and Conference Center. Teachers and speakers will receive a teaching stipend of $700/day or $350/half-day, as well a travel and lodging stipend if traveling from outside the College Station area.

The committee is seeking 3-day workshops, 2-day workshops, 1-day workshops, and 3-hour seminars covering a variety of topics and experience levels. Proposals must include a class description and length, photographs (if available) of similar projects, student experience level required, maximum number of students accepted, classroom requirements (tables, sink, running water, display wall, etc.), student supply list, materials fee and supplies covered by the fee.

The deadline for proposals is March 20, 2024. We anticipate making class selections by the end of May 2024.
